Roundhouse Event[]
For the Roundhouse Show, the band's record label prepared a special surprise to enhance the concert experience and connect more fans with The Parlour. Before the show, the server team handed out over 200 roses to fans waiting in line. Each rose had a QR code attached that linked directly to the Discord community. Fans were encouraged to wear their roses as a symbol of unity and support for the band during the show. At the end of the show, when the band took their final bow, fans all thew their roses onto the stage in a grand gesture of appreciation and love. None of the band members knew about the event and were pleasantly surprised when they were showered with roses!
Ides of March[]
In celebration of the 'Ides of March' (notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar), The Parlour hosted an unforgettable event that commemorated one of history's most enigmatic figures in reference to the band's single Caesar on a TV Screen (song).
The festivities included various activities designed to honour Caesar and engage participants in creative and thematic expressions.
- Book Club: Members were invited to share short stories inspired by the great Caesar.
- Dress Code Room: Participants promenaded their finest Roman-inspired attire, celebrating the height of ancient fashion and elegance.
- Drawing Room: The Drawing Room featured artistic creations inspired by themes declared by Caesar, such as:
- "Felt like an emperor"
- "Leningrad"
- "Caesar on a TV Screen"
- "City to burn"
- "The Ides of March"
- The Parlour Poll: A grand poll was conducted to determine The Parlour's favourite TLDP song, celebrating the musical legacy intertwined with Caesar's historical narrative, with the winner being The Feminine Urge (song).
Abigail Morris and Georgia Davies also created an exclusive skit just for The Parlour. This special skit was accessible to those who discovered the secret code hidden under the "Caesar on a TV Screen" YouTube video. Fans embarked on a fun hunt, searching for the hidden code in the video's description. Once found, they unlocked and enjoyed this unique creation.
Sinner Anniversary Competitions[]
The Parlour hosted a special event in celebration of the anniversary of Sinner (song). This event centred around the theme of the seven deadly sins, inviting participants to creatively manifest their interpretations of greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, sloth, and pride.
Art Competition[]
In The Drawing Room, an art competition was held where participants were encouraged to submit their finest work representing their chosen sin. This allowed our artistic members to explore the forbidden through their creativity and share their talent with the community.
Minecraft Build Competition[]
Simultaneously, in The Parlour Minecraft Server, a build competition took place. Participants drew inspiration from the most deadly of sins to create stunning and imaginative structures, showcasing their building skills and thematic interpretation.
Prizes[]
Victors of these competitions were rewarded with a trove of treasures fit for a masterful artisan. Prizes included TLDP t-shirts and tickets to a TLDP show! This event not only celebrated the anniversary of Sinner but also highlighted the incredible talent within the community, making it a memorable and engaging experience for all.
Glastonbury Event[]
In anticipation of The Last Dinner Party's performance at Glastonbury Festival, the server team organized a special event for server members attending the festival. Those who were planning to attend Glastonbury were invited to sign up for a mysterious gift to be sent to them by post. It was later revealed that the secret gift was a beautifully crafted hand paper fan, reminiscent of traditional Chinese designs, featuring portraits of the band members.
The plan was for the crowd at The Last Dinner Party's Glastonbury set to hold up their fans, creating a visually stunning and unified display of support. This gesture was designed to be a memorable highlight of the performance, showcasing the strong bond between the band and their fans. Unfortunately, the festival organisers did not allow the use of the fans during the performance. While this was a disappointment, it did not dampen the spirits of the fans, who continued to show their support and enjoyment in other ways!
